I just read Carrie’s tutorial on how to make pictures look more old fashioned over on her blog ‘Wish Wish Wish’ and had to give it a go. Her images are always so beautiful and have a real vintage, whimsical feel to them which I love, so I tried it out straight away on one of my recent photos from a trip to Blackpool Zoo. Most of you will have already seen this picture, but just for demonstration purposes, here it is again!

I just love how it has turned out, and its actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. You do need Photoshop though otherwise you will struggle! I’m definitely going to be using this technique more in the future, and for editing my pictures at uni too.

Thanks Carrie!

This is really cool – I'm thinking of getting photoshop for my macbook. Do you know what version is the best for a learner!?

I love that old fashioned look – but I need a better camera before I can even contemplate effects – one that takes clear close ups.
