I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by Move Dancewear, a company that specialises in, well, dancewear! They asked me to chose one of their items, and challenged me to style it into an everyday outfit. Move have a wide variety of products, from leotards and whole body suits, to skirts and leggings. Being a massive fan of the Disco Pants, I opted for a pair of their Shiny Lycra Stirrup leggings, as I figured their shiny appearance would be a great alterative. Although there are a basic legging shape (not high waisted and no zip/button fastening) the finish of the leggings is pretty similar to that of a Disco Pant, and priced at £9.95 for children and £13.95 for adults, these are a bargain and great idea if you don’t want to splash out.
I tried to style mine with their intended use in mind, giving the look a sporty nod with my new Nike Blazers. I’ve wanted these since falling in love with them in a shop window back when it was my birthday, and finally got my hands on a pair last week online at Footasylum. I also wore my River Island printed jersey skater dress (similar here) and a chunky knit as it is so cold at the moment!
Dress – River Island
Cardigan – H&M
Leggings – Move Dancewear*
Nike Blazers – Footasylum
Hat – Primark
Lips – Impassioned by MAC
I’m looking forward to working the leggings into more outfits as they are so simple to wear and being black will go with so many things! Next I will probably style them with an oversized jumper or blouse and some black studded boots for a more formal look.
I also can’t wait to wear my Blazers more often. They’re another thing that I think will look great with so many different looks, from Disco Pants to dresses. I’d like to try and experiment with making them fit into a more feminine look, maybe something Vintage or a floral print for something a little different to what you would expect.
How do you style your Nike Blazers? What do you think of the Move Dancewear leggings?
