DUNGAREE DRESS

My inner five year old squealed after spotting this dress on the rails in Miss Selfridge the other day. I had spotted a similar one online, but that wasn't available in my local store, however this one ticked all the boxes for me. I've always admired these kind of dresses from afar, but for some reason I felt like I needed one in my wardrobe this time round!  This is more of a Summer piece but I couldn't wait to wear it so threw it on with a chunky knit and trusty tights.

Jumper - Warehouse
Dress - Miss Selfridge
Tights - Primark
Boots - Topshop
Lips - Raspberry by Natural Collection

I love the fit and the length of the dress, and think it will go will so many things. The only thing I would say in this, is as it was from the Petite range I had to size up. I'm usually an 8 in Miss Selfridge but went for the 10 in this, and could even have pushed to a 12 but it would have been to loose at the top. Bear that in mind if you're thinking of getting one! It is available in regular sizing online, but wasn't at my local store.
I can't wait for Summer to come when I can wear it with an oversized tee and pair of Converse or sandals, and might even try styling it with the straps down so it's more like a skirt than a dress for something a little different.
Have you got a dungaree dress? How do you style yours?

  5. I ordered one of these in the regular sizing with the leather look straps, I've never tried on their clothes so I wasn't sure what size to get - is their sizing pretty normal? I absolutely love this and how you styled it.

    1. Generally I find Miss Selfridge true to size. This is the first time I've bought anything from their petite range, so I'm guessing that's why I had to size up! I'd recommend trying on first though, as being denim there isn't that freedom of movement you would get from a lighter fabric! x

  6. I bought this yesterday! Great taste ;) I absolutely love it on but I found the shoulder straps were ridiculously long. I bought a size 10 and I'm not exactly flat chested so I don't know why. It's a good job I'm handy with a sewing machine!
