You may have seen the #FreeYourFeet hashtag flying around Twitter and Instagram lately in conjunction with Clarks shoes, and I was lucky enough to be asked to take part in their Blogger challenge they are currently running. I was very kindly gifted a pair of their Studio Beat sandals and asked to style them into an outfit for the Summer. Now I’m going to be completely honest and say that Clarks isn’t the place that instantly pops into my mind when it comes to buying shoes, purely because it’s the place I used to go as a child and all I’ve associated it with since is school shoes, but when I hopped over to their website to take a look at the shoes in question, I was really pleasantly surprised with how on trend their selection is. I know that Clarks is known for quality, and I know that the shoes I have had in the past from there have always stood the test of time, plus the Studio Beat sandals are exactly the kind of thing I go for in Summer. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Now me being me, I couldn’t decide on just one look, so instead I did four! I picked out my favourite of the four looks to show you in photo form, and the rest you can see in my video lookbook further down the page. Old time readers may remember that I used to do the odd Youtube video back in the day, well now I am back, but for now I’ll purely be doing these kind of videos only. Anyway, back to the challenge – here’s my top look of the four.
Cover Up – Vintage via Charity Shop
Bandeau – Miss Selfridge
Levi Shorts – Vintage Fair
Necklace – Primark
Rings – Miss Selfridge, New Look, River Island
Lips – Over by Illamasqua
Nails – Satsuma Gelly Paint by Barry M
I chose this look as I think it’s the most relavent and fashion forward of the four (fashion forward being one of the challenge criteria), and is something that would be perfect for a holiday or festival. The sandals themselves fit in really well with this look, being metallic they sit well with the gold detailing of the cover up and the accessories, and whilst we’re on the subject, let me tell you a little about the lovely sandals! They are incredibly comfy from what I have seen so far, mainly due to the fact that they have a cushioned pad in the sole, and so far *touches wood* I haven’t had the dreaded rubbing at the back of the heel which I normally get. Thumbs up from me so far! Also as I said, the design is really lovely and on trend, with their metallic leather and chain detailing up the front. I found them really easy to work into all the outfits, as their pewter shades lends itself to lots of different shades. Check out my lookbook video below to see the other looks I put together!
I’ve loved taking part in this challenge and hope I’ve given you all some ideas for outfits this summer! If you want to get involved with the #FreeYourFeet campaign, check out the Clarks Facebook page where you’ll find competitions with some amazing shoe orientated prizes. What could be better?!
