I don’t know about all of you, but I really wasn’t prepared for this spell of sunny weather we’ve had over the past couple of weeks (although this weekend has been pretty cloudy, typical!) so yesterday I popped into town to stock up on some summer essentials. PRetty much my entire wardrobe was geared towards winter, with lots of long sleeve blouses and jumpers, and dresses that were either too short to wear without tights, or just not summery at all. I managed to pick up a few nice tank tops from Primark and H&M, plus one or two dresses and skater skirts to add to my wardrobe, that I can mix and match with the things I currently have. One of the items I got was this lovely little striped skater skirt from H&M, that I spied in the sale for just £5! (For some reason it’s still full price online?!) I seem to be gravitating towards monochrome prints at the minute for some reason, and this shouted out to me as it’s a lovely fit and the stripes caught my eye.
Denim Jacket – Primark (old)
Bandeau Top – Miss Selfridge
Skirt – H&M
Sandals – River Island
Rings – River Island, Primark
Nails – Happy Days by Jessica
I paired the skirt with a simple black bandeau top, expecting the weather to be super hot, but alas, the clouds meant it was a little chilly so I threw on my much loved denim jacket. I love this combination of black and white teamed with bleached denim, and the addition of my River Island heels this look would be perfect for a summer barbecue or lunch with friends. I accessorised with a few rings, keeping the look pretty simple and relaxed.
How would you style this skirt? Have you been prepared for the warm weather?
