AUGUST FAVOURITES

It’s that time of the month again where I show you all of the beauty items I’ve been loving for the past few weeks, and as usual I’m running a bit behind. I can’t get over how fast this year is flying by! September is going to be a great month as it’s my birthday this weekend and we finally go on holiday the week after, so plenty to look forward to! This month I’ve been loving quite a lot of things, so let’s get straight into it!

Boots Sleep In Rollers – I’ve had these for a good year or so now and have always loved them, but I’ve been using them a lot more than usual lately. I tend to wash my hair in the evenings, scrunch in some volumising mousse and blast it dry using the diffuser attachment of the dryer until it is just slightly damp. I then put six of these at the crown of my head and sleep in them to give my hair a bit of bounce in the morning! I tend to curl the under parts of my hair when I wake up, then take out the rollers and pull my fingers through the hair to get it all to sit how I like it. I would say that these aren’t the comfiest things to sleep in, and do tend to drop out quite easily so if you’re thinking of getting these, make sure you have some kirby grips to hold them in place and they will do the job just fine!

Real Techniques Blush Brush – I’m obsessed with the Real Techniques brushes, and lately I’ve been using this one the most for applying both blush and contouring with bronzer. I love the domed shape which makes it perfect for distributing the product and getting right into the cheekbones when contouring. I think this is one of my all time favourite brushes!

Jo Malone Blue Agava & Cacao Perfume – My friend actually gave me this (how nice?!!) before she moved to Dubai and I am loving using it. Jo Malone has always been a brand that I loved to go and try out when I was in my nearest Selfridges store, but I’d never brought myself to buy one, but I think after tying this out properly I will definitely have to get myself some more! This has a gorgeous grown up scent, which is quite fun and a little fruity at the same time (I am awful at describing scents) and it lasts such a long time on the skin.

Bourjois Déshabillez moi! Deodorant – My friend also gave me a couple of these that she didn’t want to take back with her, after telling me that it was the best deodorant she had ever tried. She was right! I love this so so much! It has a lovely refreshing girly scent to it and keeps my underarms protected all day long. The only problem is that I don’t this is stocked anywhere in the UK, so if anyone knows a good place to get this from at a reasonable price then please let me know!

Rimmel BB Cream – A few weeks back I ran out of my 17 BB Cream and until now I thought that it was the best thing since sliced bread (?!). However when my local Boots was completely out of stock in every single shade, I was forced to try something different, and went for the Rimmel BB Cream instead. Let’s just say I have not looked back since, nor will I be purchasing the 17 one again. Don’t get me wrong, it was good and did help my skin, but this is so much nicer! The colour is a better match for my skin, the formula is a lot lighter and silkier and my skin looks so much brighter and healthier when using this. My new favourite face product by a mile!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – I also recently ran out of my holy grail pressed powder, which is MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Medium, and being short on pennies I had to get a drug store replacement as a temporary measure, and after hearing good things about this I decided to give it a whirl. It isn’t quite a good as my Mac MSF in my eyes, but it does the job and keeps me shine free at a snippet of the price.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter – This has been one of my favourite body butters for quite some time now (a close second to the Body Shop’s Coconut one) and has come in super handy after baths and showers for moisturising my skin, particularly my legs which are prone to dryness after shaving. I’ve also been putting extra on my knees, ankles and elbows when applying fake tan to keep the dreaded orange patches at bay!

L’Oreal Skin Perfection Cleansing and Perfecting Milk – After featuring the Micellar water from this range in last month’s favourites, I wanted to try other products from the range, and have been loving using this. I use it as an eye makeup remover in the evenings before cleansing my face, and it takes every little bit off easily and gently, leaving my skin feeling soft and clean. I’m really impressed by this collection and will be repurchasing both items when they run out!

Tangle Teezer –  I’ve been wanting to get one of these for a while as I have naturally wavy hair which is a nightmare for knotting after washing, and when my local salon was selling them I decided to snap one up. I use this after towel drying my hair to get rid of tangles and knots before styling, and also sometimes in the shower to comb through conditioner. It makes life so much easier than having to battle with a comb!

So those are my monthly favourites. What have you been loving throughout August?

Great favourites! I'm completely in love with Real Techniques brushes too, the blush one is the brush I've got my eye on at the moment! I'm really intrigued by that Rimmel BB cream too. I've only tried the Garnier one and hated it…perhaps its time to try a new one!

    xx
