SLIP

I’m a sucker for simple greys and blacks when it comes to clothing, and this Miss Selfridge dress was no exception. You might have seen me tweet about it a couple days back, as well as the boots, and I just couldn’t resist! I spied them both in my local Miss Selfridge earlier in the week and fell in love with them. The dress is such a pretty shape, which kicks out ever so slightly at the hem, floating lightly around the legs. I really like the whole layered effect of it, appearing to look as though a slip is worn over a basic grey tee, when they are actually attached. I think this comes in other colour ways too, but I really like the grey against my blonde hair, and the classic black makes it look a little dressier.

Dress – Miss Selfridge

Jacket – Primark

Boots – ‘Jenson’ by Miss Selridge

Rings – Pandora, Handmade from Portugal

The boots are pretty darn gorgeous if I do say so myself. I’m obsessed with cut out details in boots at the moment as they let me hold onto summer a little more, still flashing a bit of flesh in the foot area, but will still be appropriate in colder months worn with pretty socks. I love the shape of these from the front and how they have a slight point to them, as it gives them an almost ‘Western’ feel without looking too cowgirl. Side on they are super strappy, with buckle features and studs at the heel, finished off with a zip fastening at the back. If you’re thinking of getting these, definitely try them on in the shop first. I don’t have the skinniest of ankles and these dig in a little at the top leaving a red mark at the front of my leg, but I’m pretty sure the material will give after a few wears. This has never happened to me in an ankle boot before, so I think these must be fairly slim fitting. Just a word of warning!

Have you bought anything from Miss Selfridge recently? What do you think of the pieces I picked up?

Definitely thought they were separate too, good idea though to layer Summer dresses with t shirts and jumpers in Winter! X
