WHO’S THAT GIRL?

It’s Claire! Today I decided to channel my inner Jess (New Girl) and donned my spectacles for a rather quirky outfit post as part of my entry to Zalando’s amazing New Girl blogger competition. To celebrate the launch of Season 2 on DVD, Zalando have put together a whole series of New Girl inspired fashion over on their website, so, feeling inspired by their selection, I thought I’d give my own stamp on Jess’s style. If you haven’t seen New Girl (where have you been?!) then you definitely need to go and lock yourself in your room and catch up on the whole first series. The show is about a girl, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) who breaks up with her long term boyfriend and moves in to an apartment with three guys she has never met before. Cue hilarious arguments, romances and drinking games. True American anyone? Anyhow, I love Jess and her style; think printed skirts and shorts, high waists and short hemlines, three quarter length sleeves and cute little heels, always finished off with her trademark specs and tumbling curls, so here’s my take on it:

Sweatshirt – Topshop
Skirt – Urban Outfitters
Coat – H&M
Boots – Primark
Glasses – Firmoo*
Hair Extensions – Dirty Looks*

Okay, so I don’t have brunette locks or her trademark bangs, but when I put this outfit on I definitely felt like it channeled Jess. I went for a simple mix of red and monochrome, teaming a cropped 3/4 length sleeve sweater with a high waisted polka dot skater skirt. It was pretty darn cold today so I threw on my boyfriend coat for some shots, and wore the cutest pair of boots I could find. Hair extensions were a must and of course some thick framed glasses to top it all off.

What do you think of my finished look? Are you a fan of New Girl?
