Hurray for lighter evenings meaning I can take outfit pictures later in the day! These shots were taken just as the sun was setting yesterday evening, when I wore a lovely dress by Ad Lib Girl, but mixed it up a bit and styled it as a top! I love the print of the dress with it’s monochrome cross detail. I’m not normally big on the whole cross print trend, but this one is pretty subtle and gives the effect of checks which I think is pretty nice! It’s an ideal dress for work or play, and the pretty little collar is just asking to be accessorised with a dainty necklace. I wore a gorgeous Swarovski encrusted one from Black Tied that catches the light beautifully.
I tucked the shift dress in to my leather skater skirt that I picked up in the Christmas sales at Topshop, as I love the whole black/white/grey colour palette, and finished the look off with my white soled New Look boots that I seem to be wearing all the time lately! A slick of red lipstick and some black opaques keep the outfit looking work appropriate but it can easily be taken in to night too. I love outfits that are versatile like this!
What do you think of this look? Have you been sporting the monochrome trend?
