Today has been pretty great if I do say so myself! We’ve spent the day in the Lake District touring an amazing gin distillery and eating delicious food, and luckily we were blessed with lovely weather (a rarity!) until it was time to leave. I’ll be sharing a post all about our time at the distillery and the delicious gin next week, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Now on to today’s outfit, which is probably veering towards being the most impractical outfit for the Lake District, so thank goodness for the good weather! I spied this longline blouse in New Look a couple of weeks back and couldn’t get it out of my head at all, so decided to go back and grab it whilst it was available! If I’m honest I kind of expected to be taking it back the next day as its not a shape or fit I would usually go for, and having a long torso can often make longline pieces look a little odd, but I was pleasantly surprised!

The fit is actually so much more flattering than I thought it would be – the neckline is super dramatic, (so definitely needed the little camisole underneath!) taking the eye down to the cinched in waist band with the delicate tie fastening, the sleeves are ever so slightly ballooned with lace up cuffs and the ‘skirt’ part of the blouse skims over the hips and kicks out in a subtle A-line shape which is perfect for covering up the parts of my body which I’m most self conscious about! Oh, and its yellow, so its pretty much perfect.

The blouse is something I’d usually wear as part of a more formal look, but I love how it looked today paired with ripped Mom jeans and Nike Cortez trainers. You all know how much I love a pair of relaxed jeans!

The trainers are a recent addition to my collection and a pair I’ve been eyeing up for a while now but always been undecided on what colour to go for! I was umming and ahhing between the pink and beige shades but figured they wouldn’t really go with a lot of my wardrobe, even though they were both lovely, so I settled on the classic white with red and blue detailing. I know I’m going to get a hell of a lot of wear out of these – they’re so comfy!

I can’t wait to show you some of the shots from our day at the distillery today and tell you all about what is probably one of my new favourite gins! Also over the next few days I’ve got a first impressions post about the incredible Naked Heat palette from Urban Decay, and a style post with a bit of a difference (hello, swimwear!) coming your way. Also, If you follow me on Twitter you’ll know that I’ve recently migrated to WordPress from Blogger with the help of the incredible Pipdig, so if you’d like to see a post all about how I’ve found the transition then do let me know!

Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.
