I’m absolutely loving the high street this season. Time and time again I go through seasons absolutely hating the key trends and ‘must have’ pieces, but this year has been a good one so far. I’ve well and truly immersed myself in the bardot trend and pretty much own the high street’s current floral offering, but one trend I haven’t really delved in to that much until now is the tie waist shirt. I picked up this gorgeous red striped shirt from H&M recently and I absolutely love it!
The shirt fits like a dream and ties at the smallest part of my waist, cinching everything in and making it super flattering. The sleeves are my favourite part though, with their balloon shape that tapers in at the button fastened cuffs for a dramatic shape (got to love a bit of drama in a shirt!). I wore mine today for a day exploring Manchester, paired with my beloved ASOS Farleigh jeans (I couldn’t recommend the Farleigh fit enough if you’re looking for a comfy pair of skinny jeans with a high waist) and Kurt Geiger boots that I picked up for an absolute steal in Megan Ellaby’s charity sale recently. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate the H&M shoulder bag, which has some serious Chloe vibes but far more purse friendly at a bargain £20!
One of my absolute favourite things about Manchester is that no matter how much time I spend there, I always find something new, whether that’s somewhere to eat, drink or shop, that I’ve never been to before. We only live a 40 minute drive or train journey away and have spent many a weekend there so its a city that is very close to my heart, and I fall in love with it all over again on every visit.
This time round we visited The Washhouse, which on first glance looks like an old unassuming laundrette, but its actually one of the most amazing cocktail bars I’ve ever been to! I won’t give too much away as its much better if you go not really knowing what to expect (we had no idea and were super impressed) but the drinks are incredible. Order the Washhouse Gin & Tonic. You will not be disappointed! —–

We’re definitely going to try and visit Manchester more often like we used to, so if you’ve got any amazing brunch spots (current favourites are Moose Coffee and Evelyn’s!), must-visit bars or restaurants that are off the beaten track then please send your suggestions my way! I love discovering new places, especially when they’re so close to home!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far! Tomorrow we’re off to a gin distillery in the Lake District, which you’ll all find out more about very soon!
