SEEING STARS

If there’s one item that I had to chose from everything that’s hitting the rails for the new season, it would have to be the checked blazer. They may be all over my Instagram feed and in every single store I walk in to, but I absolutely love them, and found the perfect one for me in Bershka recently. I love the masculinity of it and how it can instantly smarten up any look, but looks effortlessly cool paired with pretty dresses and brogues or trainers. Such a great, versatile addition to my wardrobe!

I knew as soon as I got the blazer that I wanted to wear it with this gorgeous little star print shift dress from Tobi for a contrast with not only the prints, but I love the fitted style of the dress paired with a more masculine, oversized jacket. I didn’t want the entire look to be too formal as this was just a look I was sporting on a chilled out Saturday hitting the shops, so I paired the whole thing down with my Nike Cortez trainers for a more casual feel, and I think they did the trick!

I accessorised with a simple velvet bag I picked up recently at Primark and added some of my current favourite pieces of jewellery. Lately I’ve really got back in to rings and bracelets and I love mixing metals. The latest addition to my collection is a stunning rose gold piece with really cool knot details from Bijou Bijou.

I’m now off for an evening of packing ready for a few days away in York celebrating my birthday, and I am so excited for the break! I’ve literally been counting down the days to this trip, which I’m sure you’ll see lots of posts about on my Instagram feed over the next few days! York is one of my favourite places for a city break and somewhere we visit pretty often – check out some of my favourite things to do in York, and please leave your recommendations in the comments, too!
