When it comes to this time of year, I’m the kind of girl who loves to spend cosy nights in with the fire on, a glass of vino in hand and a good film on the box. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good night out wearing a sparkly new dress and throwing some serious shapes on the dance floor, but when its cold and wet outside (or snowing like it has been lately!), I’d much rather take a night on the sofa with great company any day of the week!

In our house, a night in just wouldn’t be complete without a snack selection to end all snack selections. Give me it all! For this very reason, anyone who knows me will know just how excited I am to have teamed up with Butterkist to celebrate everything about swapping the dancing shoes for the sofa and enjoying a big night in. Why go hard, when you can go home and eat copious amounts of popcorn? Am I right or am I right?

So last weekend, we got all festive with family and had a cosy night at home complete with Christmas films and TV shows, hot chocolate with all the trimmings, and popcorn in all the flavours you could ever dream of (why HELLO choc mallow, you dreamy thing!) , and it was THE BEST. There’s just something about being at home with your favourite people at this time of year, with the house all decked out for Christmas, festive candles all lit and some tasty treats!

When it comes to the all important Christmas film, this time round we went for Nativity, which I’m almost embarrassed to admit I had never seen before. Needless to say its now up there in my top 5, along with The Muppets Christmas Carol, Home Alone 2, Elf and of course Love Actually which in my eyes will never be knocked off the top spot!

I think its fair to say that most of our nights at home will look pretty much the same as this for the next three weeks and I couldn’t be happier. Give me cosy pyjamas, a toasty fire and some Christmas cooking shows and I’m a happy girl! I’m so excited to have some time off over Christmas and New Year as its been such a hectic few months, so relaxing evenings like this one are most definitely on the cards.

What are your favourite ways to spend festive evenings at home? I’d love to hear all about your family traditions at this time of year, and what Christmas film is your number one (if its not Love Actually I’m not impressed)!
