A YEAR IN OUTFITS: 2017

So it seems this kind of post is becoming an annual thing, and I’m so glad I’ve kept up with this little tradition on here over the years. 2017 has been one of my favourites when it comes to personal style for a few reasons. First off, I decided pretty early on in the year that I wanted to go back to the bob from my uni days, which personally I think is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while. Shorter hair seems to suit my face shape so much more than anything below the shoulder, and I just feel more ~me~ with a shorter cut.

Secondly, I feel like fashion this year has generally become more fun. High streets are embracing bold colours and bright prints, the slogan T shirt made a huge come back (much to my delight!) and we saw lots of new trends take the world by storm – slip on loafers à la Gucci, frilled bardot dresses and exaggerated sleeves to name a few.

Finally, and most importantly, I feel like I’ve become the most comfortable I’ve ever been in my personal style. I’ve come to know what fits and cuts suit me, I’ve been braver with colour and I’ve added more statement pieces to my wardrobe, but in a subtle way. Spring was definitely a turning point for me when we went on holiday, and as you scroll through the photos below, I’m sure you’ll see a pretty clear change where colour starts to make a pretty bold appearance!

As you can tell, I’m still living in jeans and trainers (my collection has grown so much more), but this year has seen the addition of some rather sassy pairs of boots and sandals, a few pretty skirts and dresses, and some more colourful accessories in the form of crossbody bags and hats. I think my style is still fairly casual like last year, as I’m all for comfort, but I’ve learnt which pieces to add to elevate an outfit from everyday to ‘I’ve actually made an effort today’.

Its so nice to look back on how things have changed in twelve months, and I can’t wait to carry on snapping my outfits in 2018! If you want to have a laugh and look back at the Who What Claire outfit archives, you can find all of my previous ‘Year In Outfits’ posts below!

This will be my last post before the new year now as we’re heading away to see 2018 in with family, but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has stuck with me throughout the past year, whether on here, or over on social media. Every click, like and comment is so hugely appreciated, and I’m so thankful for every single one of you that takes the time to read what I write and look at the content that I love to create. Its been a brilliant year, and I can’t wait to see what 2018 holds for me and my little corner of the internet. Have an amazing New Year!!
