With just a week to go until Valentine’s Day, now’s the time to start picking out those gifts and planning those all important date night outfits! Dan and I don’t to do much for Valentine’s anymore, and would happily take a film on the sofa with a takeaway over a pricey meal out in a busy restaurant. Don’t get me wrong though, we love a date night when we head out and enjoy some time together over a bite to eat, and that’s exactly what we did when we spent some time in snowy Manchester earlier this week!

I got to style Dan up in a top-to-toe outfit from the latest BoohooMAN collections, and since we were heading out during the day, I chose a look that was more smart-casual than formal, and I may be a little biased, but I think he looked great! I also dressed a little more relaxed for the occasion in an oversized knit, jeans and ankle boots – pretty much my go-to combination right now!

Dan wears:
Button Through Jacket // Roll Neck Knitted Jumper // Skinny Fit Jeans // Faux Suede Chelsea Boots – All BoohooMAN*

Dan’s outfit is very typical of his personal style but with a slightly more formal feel. He regularly pairs a neutral toned jumper with some slim fit black jeans, so the grey roll neck and black skinnies were a given, but the navy mac and the Chelsea boots give a smarter spin on his usual daytime style, and he was just as chuffed with this look as I was!

I also went for neutral tones in my own outfit to compliment Dan, and chose a gorgeous grey wrap jumper from WearAll that kept me super warm. By the time we had finished shooting these photos the snow was coming down thick and fast, so we were both glad of the knitwear, for sure!

To smarten up my jeans and jumper combo, I accessorised with a simple black belt, ankle boots and one my favourite bags. (I also wore a coat which I pretty quickly put back on after taking these photos – don’t worry, I didn’t freeze!)

I’m wearing:
Wrap Front Jumper – WearAll* // Farleigh Jeans – ASOS // Ankle Boots – River Island // Belt – River Island // Bag – H&M // Necklace – Oliver Bonas

We had such a lovely couple of days in Manchester, so much so that I’ll be writing a little post on spending 24 hours in my favourite city and showing you some of my most loved places to eat and drink. Watch this space!

I hope we’ve given you a little inspiration for date looks that are more on the casual side, perfect for day dates and those relaxed evenings out! It was so lovely to get Dan on the other side of the camera for once, and I think he actually enjoyed it. Looks like someone might try and give me a run for my money!
