Talking about Spring seems a little wrong when we’ve been battling with snow, gale force winds and torrential downpours, but still, I can’t help but get excited for warmer months, ditching the big coats and not having to wear layer after layer whenever I leave the house! We were lucky to get a couple of dry days over the weekend which finally gave me the chance to test drive some of my new in pieces that have landed in my wardrobe for the new season (lets just pretend I’m not back to wearing the biggest coat I own today…).

Spring is definitely my favourite season when it comes to styling, as you can still layer up a little and get creative with your outfits without the worry of a heatwave, but colour palettes are lighter, pretty prints are everywhere and everything just feels more fun!

Who What Claire - Miss Selfridge blazer outfit 7First up let’s take a moment to appreciate this dreamy blue blazer that I found in Miss Selfridge recently. I absolutely love cornflower blue and this shade is just gorgeous. Its actually part of a suit with a matching mini skirt, but I just went for the jacket on its own as you all know by now that I love to clash blazers with a more casual look!

I think its going to be a great addition to my collection and one that I’ll get a lot of wear out of in the coming months for both work and off duty outfits! I threw it together with this outfit at the weekend and absolutely loved it, and this combination wasn’t one that I’d thought would work before I tried it on! I styled it over the slogan sweatshirt that everyone seems to have from H&M with its pop of red, which I think works really nicely as a subtle clash against the blue.

One of the things that I wasn’t too sure would work, was pairing the baby blue jacket with a very similar shade of denim, but I actually really like how the two look together, almost like a suit but not! These jeans are the Miss Selfridge Mom jeans and I absolutely love them. I’ve not tried many pairs of denim from there, but I tried these on and they fit in all the right places, with a high waist that sits at just the right height. Winner!

I wear light wash denim all year round but I love it for Spring especially, as it just goes so well with all the great colours out there and looks less heavy in an outfit than classic black or indigo. I rolled them up slightly and paired them with my old favourite Converse which of course go with practically everything!Who What Claire - Miss Selfridge blazer outfit 5Who What Claire - Miss Selfridge blazer outfit 8Who What Claire - Miss Selfridge blazer outfit 6

Last but definitely not least, lets talk about the accessories! I’ve got massively in to my accessories over the past few months and now own more crossbody bags than I know what to do with, but I couldn’t resist this beautiful floral bag from Mango which I fell in love with at first sight (and so did all of you judging by how well it went down on Instagram!). The colours work so well with this look and will go with pretty much any palette this season, so I’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing it a lot more very soon!

Then there’s the sunnies! When I first saw the thin cat eye trend come back on the scene (hello, nineties!) I had to admit I was pretty dubious – I’m more of an aviator or round lens girl myself, but after seeing them pop up so often on my social media feeds they have definitely grown on me. I wanted to give the trend a try without spending a fortune, so these H&M versions will do the trick and let me give the look a whirl!

Let me know what your favourite Spring styles are, and what you’ll be adding to your wardrobe this season!
