THE FLORAL SUMMER MINI DRESS

Typically I’m a trousers or jeans kind of girl, but when the summer sun calls, I’m all for swapping the comfort of my usual staples for floaty skirts, or better still, pretty little summer dresses. Last weekend’s heatwave (please come back!) was the perfect excuse to reach for something a little more summery, and I had just the thing!

This gorgeous red floral mini dress is a new addition to my collection and one that I fell in love with instantly. I love colour, and this one is the brightest red! The pretty floral print, the v neck line, the ruffled hem and sleeves and the length tick all the boxes for me, making it exactly what I look for in a summer dress.

As you probably all know by now, I love to style a more feminine outfit with trainers, so I paired the dress with my good old Converse and saved my feet from a day of blisters from summer sandals – hurrah!

Also new to my wardrobe is the gorgeous straw embroidered bag complete with two sweet little crabs that matched the dress perfectly. I purchased this with the intention of putting it away safely for our honeymoon, but when I saw the weather forecast I just couldn’t resist!

I’m hoping and praying for some more sunny weather over the next few weeks as I love wearing outfits like this! Usually, living in the North West, outfits like this only ever get to see the light of day on holiday, so it was so good to be able to spend a weekend in summer clothes and enjoy sunny strolls and days out in dresses and feel the sun on my skin!

This dress will definitely be coming with me on our honeymoon later this year, as will a couple of other items that IKRUSH kindly sent me, that I can’t wait to show you soon!
