As I’m writing this its currently pouring down with rain, with a good dose of thunder and lightning too, but lets just pretend the sun’s still shining like it was when I took these photos, yeah? So far this season I’ve been wearing a lot of dresses and skirts, but one style I hadn’t worn for a while was the maxi, until now! I usually steer clear of a full length skirt as I’d never really felt that they suited my frame, but when I spied this Very knee split maxi skirt, I fell in love with the print and couldn’t resist it.
I was super surprised to find that it fit me like a glove, and somehow made my legs look longer – result! The shape is just perfect, although I did have to unpick some of the stitching to make the slit come up a little higher in a more flattering position. I styled it for a day out for lunch and a spot of shopping and wore it with one of my favourite slogan tees (obvs – would it even be one of my outfits without one?) and a pair of trainers, and I loved it!
MORE CUTE MAXIS
This is obviously a relatively casual outfit, and something I’d wear on a lazy day, spent pottering around town like I was here, but the skirt is so perfect for dressing up too! It would work so well at a wedding, paired with a bardot top, statement earrings and some delicate heels, and I can even imaging wearing this in the cooler months too with a pair of black ankle boots and a lightweight knit tucked in at the waistband. So many styling possibilities!
In other news, its now less than a month until our wedding day!! I can’t quite get over how quickly its coming round and how we can now say we get married THIS MONTH! So crazy. It only seems like yesterday when Dan got down on one knee and popped the question. We’re so excited for the big day and spending it with all of our favourite people, but if the days could slow down a little that would be much appreciated, thanks.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and hopefully the sun shows its face again. I’ve got a honeymoon fashion wish list coming your way this weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
