I’ve had this post saved in drafts for what feels like forever, but was only matter of weeks ago! The excitement of wedding planning got in the way, and to be honest I completely forgot that I had these photos to post. This outfit was something I threw together at the start of the heatwave and I’ve since worn it a few more times for both work and off-duty days. It wasn’t something that I thought I’d be snapping for a blog post, but here we are, and I love it!

First though, I’ve got to let you in on a little secret with the jeans. These Topshop Utility Jeans which have sadly just gone out of stock, retailed for £45.00. I found them in a local seconds store though, and got my for an absolute steal at just FIVE POUNDS! I struck gold because I can’t find a single thing wrong with them, and they fit like a dream. I’m always a little scared by paler denim, but I really love these as they’re not white, but more of a creamy stone shade that somehow feels a little easier to style. The tapered leg and high waist suits my frame perfectly and they’re one of those items of clothing that just makes me feel good about the way I look. Winner!

When I’m wearing paler jeans like these, I tend to go for a darker colour on top as a contrast. That could be something pretty bold and block coloured like my orange blouse, something colourful and printed, or even something that is a similar colour but just a couple of shades darker. Being fair skinned, I’m always cautious of wearing something too similar to my skin tone as it can completely wash me out, so you’ll usually find me with something bright to lift my skin colour!

I also like to keep my shoes a similar tone to the jeans to help elongate my legs, like my nude little pointed pumps I’m wearing here, or even a pair of trainers. Something dark such as a black shoe can look a little harsh next to such a pale colour jean, so I try and steer clear of any dark footwear when I’m wearing these.

The button down blouse i chose to wear my jeans with here is one you’ve probably all seen in Topshop recently! They do this one in so many colours and I definitely need to snap up another couple of versions. They’re the perfect top to wear for smart-casual occasions as they can smarten up a look in an instance. I love wearing mine with jeans or culottes for when I want my outfit to look well ‘put-together’ but I also want to me comfy!

In other news, its now just two weeks until our honeymoon and I CAN’T WAIT!!! I’ve been compiling a honeymoon fashion wish list, and have been picking up some new pieces for a couple of months now, which I’m really can’t wait to share with you all! The countdown is on!
