I’d be lying a little bit if I said I wasn’t just a tad excited about being able to get wrapped up in chunky knits, new coats and lots of layers now that the new season is here! I love Autumn styling, probably more so than any season –  there’s just something nice about digging out the knitwear and ankle boots! I think it comes down to the fact that I’m a September baby (hello, 29!) , and this time of year is always one that I’ve looked forward to for that reason. We’ve just moved house in the last couple of weeks so this year is a little different, but usually my birthday money goes on new Autumn clothes to prepare my wardrobe for the cooler months.

That’s not the case this year as my money has gone on things for the house, but the lovely folk over at NA-KD fashion were on hand to help a girl out and treated me to some gorgeous sweaters from their new season collections. I picked out a couple of pieces but my favourite has to be this lovely chunky knit bottle green cardigan (something I never thought I’d say after having to wear bottle green school uniform back in high school, but here we are!) which just seems to go with everything. I styled it up here with some wide leg jeans, some new ankle boots and of course, a slogan tee!

Cardigans are an absolute must have in my wardrobe at this time of year, where its not quite cold enough for a coat, but not warm enough for just a T shirt. They’re super versatile, not forgetting SO cosy, and they’re just so easy to throw on and style with more or less any look. This is my go-to way to wear them right now, paired with a simple jeans-and-tee combo, but I absolutely love to wear them over casual mini dresses with trainers for a more laid back look, providing the weather isn’t as horrific as it has been lately.

There’s just something about this colour too – I love adding deeper jewel-like shades to my wardrobe at this time of year and swapping out my summery brights for more Autumnal muted shades. Same goes for my make up too; I’ve been steering more towards nude shades and deeper berry tones as opposed to my pretty pinks and corals that I reached for last season.

Now that we’re settled in our new place, normal blogging should hopefully resume! I’ve already started eyeing up new photoshoot locations and planning some Autumnal outfits, which I can’t wait to start sharing. Also, in super exciting news, there’s less than a week to go until the Northern Blog Awards and I can’t wait! I’m so grateful to everyone who nominated and voted for me – let’s cross our fingers and see what happens at the awards next week!

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and the best start to the new season.
