(AD – The Point A Hotel stay and visit to Ballie Ballerson mentioned in this post were both gifted experiences)
A couple of weeks back I was kindly treated to a lovely night away with Point A Hotels in Shoreditch, and what a lovely stay it was! I spend a lot of time in the area for work so I’m no stranger to spending my evenings in hotels, but this is one of my favourites so far!
I managed to coincide my trip with a day of meetings in London, and took one of my besties with me. We easily found the Point A Hotel located on Paul Street just a stones throw from Old Street Station. It’s in the perfect location for somewhere close to all of the sights of Shoreditch! After a swift check-in in the lovely reception area (furniture goals!) we were given our room keys and headed up to our floor. It was the day before Valentine’s Day when we checked in, and the lovely team had organised a little treat to celebrate. We opened our door to an abundance of gorgeous heart shaped balloons and I couldn’t resist getting a few snaps with them!

The room itself was just what we needed for a comfortable stay. It was small and compact, but still plenty of space for the two of us. Point A hotel rooms are fitted with clever space saving furniture such as pull out desks and clothes hanging space in the walls. There’s also mood lighting that can be changed to any colour of the rainbow, and clever little storage holes for phones and remote controls.
The bed was a super comfy Hypnos one, perfect for a good night sleep, but before that, we were lucky enough to be invited to spend an evening at one of the hotel’s partner venues, Ballie Ballerson! We freshened up with the amazing power shower, changed in to some much sassier outfits then headed out for some fun! The venue is essentially a ball pool in a bar, and it’s one of the best ideas ever. Imagine the elation you felt as a little kid when throwing yourself around in the ball pools of Wacky Warehouse. Fun, right? Now add cocktails and music to the mix! We were so excited to see that one of the ball pits was an homage to all things Valentine’s. Think a pastel pink ball pool, Ariana Grande song lyrics and Mean Girls inspired murals. It was probably one of the most Instagrammable things I’ve ever seen!
Ballie Ballerson was an absolute blast (apart from the stressful 15 minutes when I lost my phone at the bottom of the pit!) and I’d go back in a heartbeat! We got to drink some fabulous drinks and act like kids again for a good couple of hours. We loved it!
After the best time at Ballie Ballerson, we stopped off for some pizza then walked back to our home for the night at the Point A Hotel. We picked up some snacks and hot drinks from the little cafe area in the reception (so handy!) and headed up to bed. The bed was probably one of the comfiest I’ve stayed in and we both slept really well with our room at the perfect temperature. It was so lovely to wake up in a room with blue skies and a view across London! We had a busy day ahead so quickly packed up our things and got ready to go down for breakfast.
Breakfast here was SO good! There’s a cute little breakfast station down in the reception area with so much to choose from. We picked pretty much everything because we’re both pretty bad at decision making when food is involved! Needless to say we devoured it all! I chose everything from croissants and pain au chocolat to tasty yogurts and fresh watermelon. Delicious!
Check out was at 11am, but we sadly couldn’t stick around as we had to dash for a train home and had lots of work to crack on with. The check out process again was quick and easy, giving us just enough time to snap a few photos of the hotel foyer!
We couldn’t fault our short stay at the Point A Hotel. We had everything we needed in our room, the food at breakfast was great, and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be staying here again, whether that’s for work or play! The location is brilliant – close enough to all the popular Shoreditch haunts to walk everywhere, but far away enough so that you can enjoy a quiet, undisturbed night. I’d definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for somewhere modern and affordable in Shoreditch – you won’t be disappointed!
