If you follow me over on Instagram then you’ll probably be familiar with my ‘Five Ways To Wear’ posts from the last couple of years! I pick out a particular item in my wardrobe and style it up in five different ways – simple! I used to love doing these pre-pregnancy as it encouraged me to rediscover pieces in my wardrobe and buy less. When I became pregnant though I found it quite tricky to pull looks together that I felt comfortable in, so I haven’t shared one of these for a while.
My body isn’t yet back to what it used to be, and that’s totally fine. I’ve got a new found respect for the body I have. It did an amazing thing and grew a human! Of course things are going to be a little different now. That being said, I have steered clear of getting back in front of the camera properly as I’ve been getting used to dressing the new figure I have now. I’ve been itching to get back to styling so outfits though, so I’m back with (hopefully) a regular feature on here as well as my Instagram. Let’s kick things off with five ways to wear sweatpants!

Let’s face it, loungewear is where it’s at right now. Sweatpants have become my uniform most days in lockdown because they’re just so darn comfy! Pre-lockdown, you probably wouldn’t have seen me in mine very often, but now they’re part of my outfit probably 9 times out of 10, and I’m starting to run out of ways to style them! I had a play around with some looks though and have pulled together some different ways to wear them that are different to just sticking a matching sweatshirt on. I’m wearing these from Topshop.

One of my favourite items to throw on right now is the shacket! I love the colours in this Zara one, and the sparkly buttons make it that little bit more special. This is the perfect outfit for a stroll outside as it’s so warm and cosy! It also worked really well with my baby bump during pregnancy as it’s a great oversized fit.
Shacket – Zara
Sweatpants – Topshop
Trainers – Yeezy for Adidas Originals

This is probably my favourite look of the five and one I’ll definitely be sporting more now. I’m obsessed with this oversized collar blouse and it works so well layered under a deep v knit. This is the perfect outfit for a day of video calls – comfy at the bottom, fancy at the top!
V Neck Jumper – Boohoo (part of a loungewear set)
Floral collared blouse – Monki
Sweatpants – Topshop
Trainers – Yeezy for Adidas Originals

This is another look that works well if you want to feel a little more put-together but still stay super comfy. I’ve paired the sweatpants with my favourite T shirt (a maternity buy that will be staying put in my wardrobe for the foreseeable!) and the dreamiest cardigan from Zara. I kept my slippers on for this one, seeing as they hardly ever leave my feet these days!

Zebra Print T Shirt – ASOS
Sweatpants – Topshop
Slippers – Gift (customised by my lovely friend!)

One of my favourite things to wear right now is a high neck top. The perfect layering piece to wear under pretty much anything. I love this one from Saturday by Megan Ellaby, and it works so well under an oversized band tee. You’ll find me in this kind of outfit pretty regularly! I popped on my Comme des Garçons PLAY X Converse on with this look. Dan bought me these for my birthday back in September but I’ve hardly had chance to wear them yet!

Queen T Shirt – Primark
Sweatpants – Topshop
Comme des Garçons PLAY X Converse – Selfridges

I LOVE a blazer and hoodie layered together, so that’s exactly what I did for the fifth and final look. It’s a great way to smarten up a casual outfit and could even look cute with heels if we could actually go anywhere! For now I’ve stuck with trainers though, and I’ll definitely be wearing this combo more! I’ve got so many colourful blazers that would all work just as well.

Hoodie – H&M
Sweatpants – Topshop
Trainers – Yeezy for Adidas Originals

So there we have my five ways to wear sweatpants (aka five lockdown looks!). I’d love to know which is your favourite, and what pieces you’d like to see my style up in the future. I’m thinking of doing the shacket next time as I wear them so much right now.
If you want to catch up on any of my ‘Five Ways To Wear’ Instagram posts that I’ve previously shared, you’ll find them all saved in a stories highlight on my profile!
